The conference has come to an end. It was a great time to get refreshed, rejuvinated, and revived as I head on back home and try to be the best youth pastor I can possibly be.
There were inspiring messages, great times of fellowship with the team, lots of laughter, connections with old friends and new, and speed dating.
You heard it right. Saturday night, the conference offered speed dating.
At first I thought that it was fake, then I thought "who in the world would go to this?" After a little consideration and a lot of pressure, I said I would go, but only if my married friend went with me.
I walked in and sat down at a table. with 3 other guys and 4 girls.
You had 5 minutes with each girl and then you switch. By the time it was over, I went on 8 five minute dates with girls that I knew nothing about. They were all really nice, but Im pretty sure I did not meet my wife there.
Im not sure what people had in mind going into this. Were they really interested in finding someone, or was it just to have fun and meet a few new people? Not sure.
I guess speed dating is something I can cross off my bucket list.

I love that you're back to blogging! And I'm glad you made it back safe and sound and had such a good time!
Sorry to hear that you didn't meet your future wife there...you'll just have to keep looking.
Did you meet anyone named Carly? I was pressuring a friend who was there that she had to attend this.
I used to think that NYWC had everything...now I know that they really do.
