We went to the lake this weekend for a day of skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, and whatever else you can do on a boat. This past week, I received a phone call from a mom wanting to plug her student into the Jr. High ministry. His name is Britton. He had never been to church before. I invited him to lake day. Sure enough, he was the first one to show up and he brought a friend. I was excited to see two new students at an event.
We loaded up the boats and he was the first one to wakeboard. He was actually really good. He caught a wake, started flying through the air like superman and sure enough the board pops up behind him and catches him right in the head. We pulled him into the boat and saw that he was bleeding like crazy. Now, I really had to step up in this moment, because I am horrible when it comes to blood or injuries or anything like that. We took him to the hospital and he ended up having to get 10 stitches.
It was horrible that this happend to a first time visitor, but I was trying to think of what good could come from this.
1. His parents were extremely cool about it.
2. He has a memory now that will last a lifetime.
3. Chicks dig scars.
4. We got the entire thing on video.

Oh...my it reminds me of these girl a few years back that came for the first time. We played head jousting. It a game were you put nylons over your head with a tennis ball at the end. You get that sucker swinging around and try to tangle the other nylon and pull it off the other players head. Anyway Molly got a tennis bal right on the eye with a big black eye. Who Hoo! That reminds me, I think we need to bring that game back.

Sweet story. You are surely growing in your ability to deal with these kinds of situations, blood and all. When the day comes for you, you'll be a pro in that hospital room!
